The Iconic House of Balenciaga of the house and ballroom community has decided that after years of civic service and duty it was time to officially become a non-profit and increase the crucial work and services needed within the House and Ballroom community. With this initiative, the organization is committing to building and fostering meaningful relationships between pharmaceutical companies, community-based organizations, national organization, other community partners and the house and ballroom community. Often community partners have only interacted with the house and ballroom community from a transactional or data driven basis, and the House of Balenciaga feels it is time to change that. The initiative focuses on the following:
-Connecting house and ballroom community to local and national resources and services.
-Acting as a Liaison in forming relationships between the house and ballroom community, community partners and organizations which serve the community.
-Acknowledging and advocating against health disparities and social determinants that disproportionately affect house and ballroom community members, as well as other minorities.
-Advocating for mental health and wellness programs and initiatives, as well as behavioral health services which can be beneficial to members of the house and ballroom community, as well as other disproportionately affected minorities.
-Assisting in providing leadership, training, and capacity building to members of the house and ballroom community, as well as other minorities.
-Advocacy for women and men of trans experience to have the right to make decisions regarding their reproductive systems and bodies.
-Advocacy supporting both body positivity and sex positivity in our communities.
-Advocacy surrounding the protection of Black and Brown women of trans experience.
